Businesses in Cornwall gathered to attend the access to funding seminar at Heartlands, Pool, on Thursday, October 1 and the seventy attendees heard from leading experts.
The Show Me The Money! Access to Business Funding seminar was organised by independent financial adviser Worldwide Financial Planning, Stephens Scown solicitors, Lang Bennetts chartered accountants, Santander and Ignition Credit.
This event follows on from the success of last year’s auto-enrolment pension event and provided SMEs in Cornwall with information on business funding options and the support available.
Matt Higham, a chartered financial planner at Worldwide and one of the organisers, said: “This event was a great success with businesses in Cornwall finding out what is available.
“We looked at funding and business development, legal considerations, peer to peer and crowd funding, and tax efficient investment.
Attendees also heard from Folk2Folk, South West Investment Group and Crowdfunder.
Lang Bennetts’ partner, Jonathan Mashen, said: “We had fantastic feedback from last year’s auto-enrolment event and we felt it was right to arrange another seminar.
“With many changes taking place due to the current European funding situation in Cornwall, as well as the austerity measures introduced by the Government, we wanted to do something that would show businesses that there are other avenues for funding.”
